DST (Discseel™) Treatment of a Patient with Severe Leg Pain Caused by Spinal Stenosis

The patient was diagnosed with disc herniation in his youth and since symptoms were bearable, conservative treatment was enough to deal with it. During recent years, his condition slowly deteriorated and 3 months ago he started feeling strong pain in his lower back and right leg. He was diagnosed with spinal canal stenosis at another hospital but wished to be treated in our clinic.
Diagnostic Imaging Results
Chief Complaint:
Low back pain, hip pain, and numbness. Symptoms on the left side were present for 15 years.
3 months ago, the sciatic nerve pain and numbness in the hip and lower right leg increased. Spinal stenosis confirmed.

Diagnosis:
Disc degeneration, disc herniation, and lumbar canal stenosis detected at L2/3 L3/4 L4/5 L5/S disc levels.
Reduced disc volume at several disc levels suggests annulus fibrosus damage.
DST disc treatment indicated. Efficacy rate for low back pain 80%, and 73~75% for the leg pain.
