DST (Discseel™) Treatment of a Patient with Pain and Numbness in Right Hip and Leg as a Result of Degenerative Disc Disease_04.03.2021
Female Patient in Her 70's
Around the end of 2018 at work, the patient felt a sudden sharp pain in her left hip. She underwent six sessions of electrical stimulation treatment without any obvious effect.
X-rays taken in 2019 showed no abnormality but since she was still in pain, she proceeded with traction therapy in a rehabilitation hospital for about 3 months without getting any relief.
In 2020 the patient underwent an MRI examination and was diagnosed with disc herniation at L3 / 4, L4 / 5 disc level, and spinal canal stenosis as a result of disc degeneration disease. She underwent conservative treatment, but the medications did not help much and the pain and numbness in the right hip and leg continued to worsen, making her daily life more and more difficult. The patient visited our clinic hoping that she could be a good candidate for the DST(Discseel) treatment.
